This article explores the evolution of design rhetoric over time, starting with theories from the Renaissance and how such theories would function applied to the current state of rhetoric. We used this source to discuss how design has become more theoretical, dividing it into a tangible versus intangible state.

The authors of this book are interested in the relationship between design and the ethos, logos, and pathos of rhetoric. The ethical appeal addresses the moral and aesthetic value of the audience and evokes feelings of trust and respect. The emotional appeal evokes feelings of passion and spirituality. With respect to our project, this site will be helpful in analyzing design rhetoric in terms of the feelings they evoke for the consumer/audience.

Since theory and practice (of design rhetoric) are entwined, exact knowledge of reoccurring design methods are integral to optimizing design progress.
