About Weboric

Every technology brings a new set of social, cultural, and political norms. Along with these new norms come communication changes, which spark the evolution of rhetoric over time. Although rhetoric has changed with each new communication tool, it took a giant leap for “web-kind” with the inception of the Internet. The Internet was, and still is, a disorganized and unruly means of communication that ushered in a new generation of rhetoric where authors, readers, and subject matter are not always clearly defined.

To counteract the chaos of the web, new rhetorics are being invented to develop web writing that is readable, usable, and useful. This wiki page, refers to these rhetorical changes as “weboric,” and describes the newly-designed roles of the author and the audience in a web document, as well as show how the audience and author influence a website’s subject or vice versa.
